Hi all,

I currently have an I5-12400F, RX6700xt, 16GB ram, on an SSD . I only play Warzone Black Ops 6 And BO6 Multiplayer. I play on 1440P on all Low settings. Problem I'm having is that on Warzone especially and sometimes in multiplayer my FPS isn't what I really want. It averages 120FPS and I have an 180hz monitor and wanted to get more FPS, at least 160. I was thinking what should I upgrade to try and achieve this performance.

I have checked my CPU and GPU usage using RivaTuner and my GPU usage is around 95-99% and my CPU usage hovers around 75-80%. I'm thinking I might be CPU limited, only issue is that my friend has the same CPU but has a RTX 4060 TI and he gets around 160-180FPS, and somehow his GPU clock sits at 2800 MHZ.  (Mine sit at max 2600).

TLDR: What should I upgrade on my PC to try and get at least 160FPS constant on BO6 Multiplayer and Warzone.

Is 1440p a necessity? I'm sure you could squeeze out some extra frames by going down to 1080p. In any case, the simplest solution would be a gpu upgrade but idk if it's really worth it. Maybe something akin to a 7800xt or a 4070. But i'd try lowering my graphics first.

2600 clock is normal but you should also check if there's anything active in the background that might be slowing you down as well. Also check your drivers. Also check if WZ is the only game with this discrepancy between you and your buddy. Also just look up "6700xt vs 4060ti" on youtube and see if the difference is what you're seeing from WZ.

I would say 1440p is a necessity now. Game just looks to blurry on 1080p on my monitor can’t go back lol. Graphics are already on the lowest settings in game. Nothing running in the background drivers upto date. I’ll have a look at the video you recommended.

thing is I can get an rtx 5060ti 16 gb for msrp, being that it is the MSI ventus one which is notorious for being poor quality.

You'll see some uplift in performance although I'm not too sure if it'll be exactly what you're looking for. Whether or not its good value will largely depend on how much you have to spend and alternative cards in your market. If you can find the 7700xt/7800xt/4070 for a lower price that might be my pick.
