OLED is the new next thing. I'd go for it unless my budget was some $400 max. The new ASUS 27" 4K OLED is a beast. Pricy. I've yet to decide but I might even prefer to get 1440p OLED > 4k IPS.

Desktop: Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Kraken X62 Rev 2 - STRIX X470-I - 3600MHz 32GB Kingston Fury - 250GB 970 Evo boot - 2x 500GB 860 Evo - 1TB P3 - 4TB HDD - RX6800 - Antec 1000W 80+ Platinum - Manta - Silent Wings Pro 4's enjoyer

SetupZowie XL2740 27.0" 240hz - Roccat Burt Pro OG Corsair K70 browns - PC38X - Mackie CR5X's

Current build on PCPartPicker

usually going above 144hz is mostly used for competitive games, but most important question is: can your GPU reach 4k 240hz? it's a really big hit on performances.

this said i have an LG ultragear 1440p 200hz monitor and it looks GLORIOUS so i understand why you want a bigger and higher refresh rate, i guess LG Ultragear can get to those refresh rates but i think it can get quite pricey.

if the budget is not the issue i assume this can be your choice, LG makes great monitors at least from my latest experience, the 4k 240hz or 2k 480hz is this one LG UltraGear OLED 32GS95UV,  it costs a kidney and an eye but i'm sure it looks AMAZING

i use Arch (Btw™) but i will not bother you with the linux is better then windows war ❤️
