I'm looking at building a PC for my business. I usually do mid to high end builds. I rarely ever do low end builds, so I have no idea whats good for low end. I'm looking at the MSI MAG A550BN 550 watts Bronze power supply.
The build will be:

Ryzen 5 5600GT with intergrated graphics
MSI Pro B550-A Pro
WD Blue SN580 either 500GB or 1TB
G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8GB
Phantek XT Pro

Everything is new but the RAM, as I already have the kit.

It's for business for doing office work. Nothing more. Will this power supply be decent for I need it for or should I go for something else? Thanks.

Overkill board, if all youre going to slap on it is just a 5600GT without a GPU. But beyond that no that PSU is fine.

wouldnt a used 8th gen prebuilt be better for basic office work? that chip is already 2 gens behind anyways so might aswell get 8th gen and cut a ton of cost

really isnt any point in building an atx machine for office work so its a massive waste of both money and space

heck if you are just gonna be using the igpu why not go straight for a ryzen mini pc if you want it new? theyre like 300$ if you stick with zen3 (r5 5600u/r7 5700u) and still have expandable ram and storage

It may be overkill but I can get it local for $90 CDN right now. Cheaper than a ITX or mATX board.

A used 8th gen prebuilt isn't much cheaper than what I built here. Maybe $50-$75 cheaper. It's also 5-6 gens behind. Plus I'll have new with warranty, minus my RAM kit. I looked at Mini PC's, not my cup of tea. I rather build my PC. I never had luck with any sort of prebuilts. Why I don't used laptops.

damn i guess that windows 11 panic buying made them expensive but 75$ cheaper sounds proposterous given the meh pricing of zen3 apus and the uneccesarily overkill board

oh and get a cheaper board might aswell save some space with an matx one while you are at it though if you want an overkill board anyway prefer gigabyte b550m aorus pro(-p)

The board is local to me at $90 CDN. Cheaper than other ITX and mATX boards I looked at. Was going to do an ITX/mATX build but the price of the MSI board, I decided to just go ATX instead.

Damn thats cheap though any similarly priced boards? gigabyte is prefferable as their boards (particularly aorus pro and up) are about the best thing you can buy this generation aside from the b550 unify x

Btw 5500gt and 5600g may be lower priced so those are also worth looking at, i assume nothing gpu intensive? Otherwise 5500 with a used 580 will be about the same price as the 5600gt and completely annihilate it in gpu performance even if you run 2500mhz igpu and ddr4 5000 with the 5600gt

The next cheapest board local was a mATX @ $160. I try and get local if possible. The 5600GT was actually $50 cheaper than the 5500GT. This PC will only be used for office usage. Why I went with the 5600GT. I have my main PC for gaming and all that. I want to keep everything separate from personal and work things. I paid just under $400 CDN for my office PC.

so basically you are getting such good deals that the typical used prebuilt or mini pc starts to look like bad value

welp in that case just enjoy the pc though any other psu options around the same price as the a550bn? maybe theres something better available but i have my doubts
