XFX 9070 OC GPU (3x8 PCIe input) Wiring Help Needed

I’ve got 4 total PCIe 8 pin slots on my power supply.  2 are already in use by my CPU, and I’ve read recommendations to using a splitter for 2 of the inputs from one 8 pin PSU output.  Is this still the best way or given the connector in the image I attached is using what MSI calls the “16 pin to 6x2 pin” connector and connecting this to the 600W output of my PSU for the last power connection a viable or better option?  Thanks

Your two 8 pin connectors going to the board for the CPU are EPS connectors, they are not the same as the 8 pin (6+2) PCIe power connectors.  They both carry 12V, but are pinned different.

 

What model power supply do you have?  It's hard to tell from the picture what exactly you have available.

Yes, the 12v 16pin to x2 6+2 pin is what you should use, and then the extra 6+2

Thanks, this worked perfectly!  I can’t tell you how hard it was to find confirmation of this, and there’s a lot of advice around the net saying to double up on one PCIe six pin and saying this connector was solely for 2 PCIe to a 12V input, which electrically seemed not incorrect to me.
