Hi ,
I just faced this issue , I wasn playing MH Wilds on a new rig i just bought and it suddenly hung up during alt tab .
The cursor moved but everything else was frozen.
I restarted the PC and it didnt boot , so i checked it and it shows the CPU light and the DRAM ligh on the mother board ,
I took out the rams and put them in one by one , didnt work , then i opened and checked the CPU for any damage , none .
So i put the cooler back and 1 ram slot , and to my surprise it worked.... ???
then the other ram , worked again .
What is the issue ?
will this happen again ? is there something at fault ? Everything is new bought 3 months ago .
Motherboard Name MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk WiFi (MS-7E12)

i suggest picking up an 8gb stick of different Ram and if it works then its ur RAM and if that doesnt work it probably is ur CPUS issue,

Its working fine currently , i just checked and the BIOs was reset after putting back every thing

There are several things there that you should check that will likely resolve the issue. (One is checking and installing any BIOS updates).
I also wrote a post on how to update drivers (not BIOS) here:

Hard to say but fwiw MH did crash a few times for me too... But it just force closes...

This is maybe a slight memory incompatibility in your case, as suggested already a BIOS update could potentially fix that.

Also did you run XMP, and at what speeds?

Bump

Do you have other options besides XMP Auto?

If possible, select the profile such as XMP 1 instead. Test that.
Also, test XMP with a manual DRAM voltage bump up to say 1.355 or 1.36 Volts. It's totally safe, but may resolve it.

Let's say you don't have any of those options. Change your MH Wilds launch options to:

-dx11

See if that improves it (even if it just crashes noticeably less). If it does, we can be almost certain that is indeed a memory instability (either CPU IMC, the RAM or motherboard).

after some testing i found out the issue was with the mobo nvme slot not having power and would randomly shut down so i changed the slot , its working fine now
idk why the slot is broken
