How motherboard with built in Intel vPro technology, which includes Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) or similar remote access technology work?

How motherboard with built in Intel vPro technology, which includes Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) or similar remote access technology work? Does it bypasses operating system security? Can it be disabled from within operating system?

Do you even have a motherboard that includes this kind of technology? In any case, you should be able to disable it in the BIOS.

No, the whole point of AMT is the ability to manage (business) computers even when the OS isn't running or responding.

And also to prevent users from circumventing security policy in exactly the same way OP is trying, even if the intent is not malicious.
