Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the process of planning a new build for 2025, as my ageing i7-8700K and GTX 1080 Ti are nearing retirement. I’ve put together a potential build and was hoping to get some advice on its compatibility and whether you think the components I’ve chosen are the best fit. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Intel:

Fractal Design Torrent Nano Black Windowed Mini-ITX PC Case
Gigabyte Z890I AORUS ULTRA DDR5 PCIe 5.0 mITX Motherboard
Intel 24 Core Ultra 9 285K Desktop CPU/Processor
Noctua NH-U12S Chromax black Slim Premium Quiet CPU Air Cooler
Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum RGB Black 64GB 6000MHz DDR5 Memory Kit
XFX Mercury AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Magnetic Air Edition 16GB Graphics Card
Corsair SF Series (2024) 850 Watt Fully Modular 80 PLUS Platinum PCIe 5.1 SFX PSU/Power Supply
ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM 32" 4K UHD 240Hz G-SYNC Compatible HDR10 QD-OLED Gaming Monitor

AMD:

Fractal Design Torrent Nano Black Windowed Mini-ITX PC Case
ASUS ROG STRIX X870-I GAMING WiFi AM5 DDR5 PCIe 5.0 mini-ITX Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
Noctua NH-U12S Chromax black Slim Premium Quiet CPU Air Cooler
Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum RGB Black 64GB 6000MHz DDR5 Memory Kit
XFX Mercury AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Magnetic Air Edition 16GB Graphics Card
Corsair SF Series (2024) 850 Watt Fully Modular 80 PLUS Platinum PCIe 5.1 SFX PSU/Power Supply
ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM 32" 4K UHD 240Hz G-SYNC Compatible HDR10 QD-OLED Gaming Monitor

This time, I’ve opted for an mITX configuration, as my current Corsair 750 Airflow is simply too large for my needs. I should add that some parts, such as storage, will be lifted from my old machine hence why it's not included in the above list.

As always, I truly appreciate any help or advice you can provide.

Apologies, already done. I posted then realised it wasn't helpful, I've updated the original post! 🙂

Ok, thanks ! 🙂

Nice builds, but with that budget I'd get a 9950X3D, and save some on a cheaper model of 9070XT, some costs 300 bucks more for +2% performance

Also a 240mm AIO can fit in a Torrent Nano and would be better and less expensive than a NH1-U12S

Same for the RAM, more expensive Dominator don't give you anything (except looks maybe)
