After posting back in November, the time has come ! I was mainly waiting for new GPUs and I loved those 5 month reading and checking videos !

I also decided to buy a 1440p OLED monitor. I think I spent 1 month going back and force betweek 4K & 1440p but now I think 4K doesn't make sense as i'm not going for a 5090 and considering the game I want to play. I also don't spend more than 15 hours a week on a PC so idc about burn-in, I play in very dark environment.

old thread link part 1 !

Budget (including currency): ~3500€

Country: FRANCE

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: MMORPG / no AAA / survival online games / Twitch and watching youtube. Basic "I'm looking for something i can upgrade here and there and keep it as long as possible" as i've done for 10 years with my current pc.

i've added UPS & powerline for full price in mind (no other choice and it's working great on a lower quality one i'm getting 80% of it's theoretical capacity and it's very stable)

I can't find what MIC to go, I don't want a new headset (have a DT770PRO so no mic). Should I just go blue yeti ? I saw a lot of different version and i'm lost.

Main objective stay the same = aiming to keep this PC for 10 year ! Any idea for improvement with reasonable budget are welcome. While keeping that in mind, couple of question :

- do you think the NH-D15 makes sense in that way ?

- are crucial RAM fine ? Do you think I should move to 2x32gb ?

- 850 vs 1000W PSU ?

- Lexar SSD vs SAMSUNG 990 PRO ?

- I selected a random 9070 XT, which one should I go for ?

Thank you for your time and answers,

Kirya

Can get away with a Peerless assassin 120 but if you like noctua then all power to ya

Nope, it is slow. You want CL30 not CL36

For now at least 32gb is a comfy choice for gaming but for 3.5k euros 48 or 64gb is more suitable

Overkill but if you want Peace of mind sure it aint a bad investment

Not that big a benefit

I'd cut my loses, get an sn770 or sn850x and call it a day

The cheapest on available

Or ideally, go used and get a used 4080 for that price

If you disagree with anything I've said tell my why with logic not feeling

If you wanna correct smb do so with logic not anecdotes and feelings

If you want long retention, start with the latest generation CPU.

The Peerless Assassin 120 SE is more than capable of handling a 9800X3D.

2x16 GB of memory should be more than enough. But get a kit with better timings.

An 850W ATX 3.x compliant PSU should be fine.

Get a single 4 TB NVMe drive. Not much more than a 2 TB SSD + 2 TB HDD.

The motherboard has WiFi 7 so I don't understand the addition of a powerline adapter.

Thank you for your time. I made some small modification, what 1000W power supply would you recommend ?

Also made some modification here thank you. Do you think 2x32go is a waste / not giving anything ?

For storage, I just want the peace of mind of having at least 2 storage to make copy on one side and on the other. I don't expect to install 200 games, should I get 2 x nvme ? I should maybe just get an external drive haha... And 1x4to as you suggested .

The power line will be linked to my pc through ethernet. But the wifi version is for my side of the house. The actual box is on the other side of the main wall on my grandfather side. But that wall is 1.5m of concrete and I get a better internet with a power line 500 than through direct wifi even though he has a gigabyte connexion 😞

I'll still make some trials with that new 200€ power line 2200 just to see if I'm actually getting 200+mb.

Any recommendations for a mic ?

It's a luxury, not a waste.

Seems like you only need a 2 TB NVMe drive. I use an external HDD for backup.
