Upscayle image upsacaler possibly broke something?

It works well enough, much better than online upsacalers, but I also immediately noticed something is wrong... several (unedited) pictures don't load anymore and I get an error about some "host.process" not responding...

 

Also there were several Nvidia processes running erratically after I closed the program. 

 

And even after a PC restart the affected pictures refuse to load...? What could have happened here?

 

Note I didn't upsacale the affected images, but they're most definitely in the same folder as the few images I did upscale, so that seems sus?

 

I also know for sure the pictures always worked, they're small jpgs or pngs or webms, nothing unusual about them.

Also the entire folder now takes forever to load... Definitely "upscayle" did "something" with it.

Still same issue... The files still work fine on my 2 laptops btw...

 

Yeah I could copy them over but I somehow doubt that'll fix it, but what does, ie. what else broke?

 

This upscayle program doesn't even have an installer. 乁⁠ʕ⁠ ⁠•̀⁠ ⁠•́⁠ ⁠ʔ⁠ㄏ
