currently I'm using a older google wifi mesh system. I believe it's the first mesh sytem that google came out with circa 2016? Anyways...i use 5 of them and they seem to work ok...but as my kids are getting older and the number of devices on the network is getting closer to 40 I have noticed a lot of wifi drops and lag outs from time to time. I updated my internet to gigabyte service and it came with a wifi puck ....specifically a deco x50....I was run that to my gogole wifi pucks for my overall nextwork...I was thinking of updating my google wifi mesh to a full deco x50 3 pack....do you think this would be a significant upgrade? if so why...

My sister has the same Google Mesh system. I would venture a guess that the Deco x50 might be able to support faster internet speeds. My sister had Gigabit and the Google Mesh system cant do Gigabit.

Also the Google system is WiFi 5 and the Deco X50 is WiFi 6, so you would get maybe a slight speed bump on WiFi devices.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Partially depends on your floorplan/main areas of your house with connectivity issues now. I'm guessing there's no existing ethernet in the house since you already have mesh? Since you already have the one Deco, makes sense to get a 3-pack and distribute them around the house (4 devices total). Assuming your ISP doesn't have the Deco you already have locked down. Have the dropouts/issues been occurring before the gigabit upgrade/Deco? Or did it start after that? It could be some DHCP conflicts and double NAT'ing having the Deco going into your existing Google network (ISP modem/ONT -> Deco -> Google).
