RED DRAGON FOR LIFE

(i have a m607w mouse and s101-3 keyboard.)

"Principles are not values. A gang of thieves can share values, but they are in violation of the fundamental principles... Principles are territory; values are maps. When we value correct principles, we have truth, a knowledge of things as they are." - Stephen R. Covey in the 7 habits of highly effective people

To be honest, the rest of the product lineup is pretty inoffensive considering the price. Especially considering all the e-waste thats out there, this would clear the Tommy Hilfiger gaming set LTT reviewed 2 years ago easily and I think if you compared dollar value per product you might be actually able to get more. In a world of CocaCola PC peripherals, I think Redragon is happy being RC Cola.

The Redragon K552 was actually my first real foray into customizable keyboards after I'd spilled coffee and killed my prior DasKeyboard. For the price it's really hard to beat, I ended up picking one up for something like $40.00 cad. Some custom keycaps/switches from ali for an addition $20-ish and a tapemod with some added adhesive rubber in the base. It was legitimately a great board. (Ymmv, there are some of this model that aren't hotswap and its hard to tell)

I mean, seems that they found their niche and it works for them. Really affordable gamer stuff that doesn't suck more than it needs to.

Audio stuff might be bad, but honestly so are many pricier and branded gamer headsets. Keyboards I heard mixed things, some swear by them for the price, others state they felt like e-waste. Guess different perspectives and varying models over time, especially given how affordable custom keyboards have gotten in the past years.

Total noob on case fans here: are the front intake fans backwards on this one? Or are the fans themselves reverse?

They mentioned in the video that the fans are reverse airflow fans so that you don't have to look at the ugly fan hubs. They're also 1 unit.

The discussion of airflow dynamics in the video is interesting, as I was having a discussion with a friend about how concerns and tactics regarding airflow in cases arose around the early 2000s. I doubt Linus turning that one fan around has that appreciable an impact when there's no rear fans pushing or pulling air through those case perforations (where another can could go, and the expansion slot covers). I bet those cause a lot of turbulence out of a lack of positive airflow management. Back in those early 2000s I remember people were actually using smoke to observe airflow through cases, often with an incense 'punk stick', holding it in front of intake fans and watching it travel in the case by the new trend of adding case windows to your side panel. I'd love to see LTT do a video doing just that. In those days I would curve and fold the wide PATA IDE drive ribbon cables to the side to move them out of the path of airflow, and would even tape up some vents and gaps to reduce turbulence and increase positive airflow.

I actually had a Redragon M908 for awhile (or perhaps an earlier version i found it 5 or 6 years ago), which i only bought because i couldn't justify spending $200 (inc VAT) for the razer Naga trinity. 12 side buttons that are surprisingly ergonomic, the base of the mouse is metal, it came with adjustable weights, multiple profiles for customizing all the buttons (20 in total i think) and it was only like $35. I've since moved on to Naga Pro, and the redragon is still being used by my wife who has set all her photoshop shortcuts to multiple layers on the mouse.

Even the keyboards i've seen on display are fairly decent and punching well above their price point. The only other redragon branded things i've seen have been headsets and soundbars and those are various degrees of hotgarbage.

Realistically, most people will have 3 intake in the front, 2 blowing air out the top, and maybe 1 blowing air out of the back, and it won't really make a gigantic difference. Sounds like a more niche topic that would be down there in priority. It would be a cool video tho, especially with the LABS being able to do such specific testing.

I've been using a Redragon keyboard for the last 4 years, only had some issues with some switches failing but luckily they include extras in the box. I think they are the only company that makes decent mechanical keyboards in brazilian standard layout, they swept the other budget brands around here just by doing this

Other channels have covered the topic already (GN, JTC) and it absolutely makes a noticeable difference. Using your example, that "can" result in things like the GPU, RAM and VRMs being starved for fresh air. Fresh air being pulled in the front is pulled straight out the top without passing by most of the components in the case. The difference between lazy airflow and proper airflow can show a variance of as much as 10c. Is that going to mean much to 95% of people who are running stock settings in their prebuilt? No, probably not...but for those of us who are overclocking and undervolting hardware that cost several thousand dollars, yeah it does.
