Computer wont boot with non-gpu x4 in gpu slot

Hi. Have been troubleshooting booting problem of my home server for over 3 hours.

 

I wanted to add disk 7 and 8, so i needed more sata slots (only 1 free, need 2)

 

So i bought StarTech 6 port x4 SATA adapter. Removed my nvidia 4070 card and placed the adapter into this slot.

 

Cleared cmos several times, ez debug lets shines red and yellow for a few minutes and then just turns off, and nothing else happens, display is black/not showing anything.

 

If i clear cmos and remove the sata adapter, the leds turns off and the green shows and computer continues to boot.

 

I have MSI MAG-B650-TOMAHAWK-WIFI

 

Going pci slots from bottom and up.

 

Bottom x1 is occupied by a 2 port pci sata adapter already

2nd from bottom sits a 10 Gbe dual nic intel NIC

And with nvidia 4070 in the top slot, computer boots.

 

no gpu in top slot, computer boots.

 

startech adapter in top slot, computer dont boot.

 

Any ideas?

 

ram EXPO is off. CSR and PD enabled (been searching for possible solution and these was the suggestions)

 

Using bios 7D75v1L2024-12-26 (saw there is 2 newer versions out, but feels like it would'nt matter in this case tho)

 

All 4 ram slot filled and works.
