Personally, I'd give it to a refurbished M1 Air. While the Intel line is fine (I'm rocking a 2015 15 inch with an i7) they do show their age, and I have to run opencore to even be on macos 15.

8GB on mac isn't the worst if you aren't doing anything heavy like video rendering (or other tasks that require a lot of ram) and using it just for like Photoshop, internet browsing, etc. It'll be WAY more than enough!
