I'm looking to install steam OS on a second PC, I've downloaded the file from the official steam website and Im using balena etcher to flash my 64gb team group usb stick. Unfortunately balena etcher is taking "336 minutes and 14 seconds" which is also not going down. Also the transfer speed is 0.40MB/s. It's been stuck at 0% completion for an hour and I have no clue if I just messed up really bad.

Any help is welcome,

Thanks!

Gotta ask, why Steam OS. For most use I'd use a general desktop linux distro. Runs other programs much better, much better hardware support. And you can start steam in big picture for a console like setup if you want.

In that case what Linux distros would you recommend.

Personally I prefer rufus over belana etcher. Burning iso should not take more than 5mins.

Try a crystaldisk benchmark on the drive, speeds should not be that low. Faulty flash drive or problem with usb contoller/port.

I'll try Rufus with bazzite or Ubuntu then, I haven't run a crystaldisk benchmark yet (the drive is 2 weeks old) ive also tried all my motherboard ports and case ports including on a laptop, It works just fine so I think it might be an issue with balena.
