Hello,

not sure if this is the place for my question but maybe someone can help me.

Our microwave is quite old (LG MS-192VU) but worked perfectly till now. It randomly stopped working a few days ago but i found the problem now. It only works when pressing the door open button slightly (not till the door opens, but pressing it like ~ 20-30% in) so im assuing its a problem with the door closing mechanism and the microwave thinks its open while it is actually closed. I tried cleaning the door hooks and the part where they "hook" in, as well as trying to put pressure on the closed door (thought maybe its not fully closed or smth) but nothing helped. Does anyone herethat had a similar issue? I would usually not open a microwave but if the problem is easily fixable by NOT messing with any electronics i would be open to do so.

There's no radiation inside a microwave when it's not running. The most dangerous thing in there (when it's unplugged) is the big capacitor.

You probably need to adjust where the latch mechanism is attached to the frame, or clean the microswitches in the latch that act as the "don't run with the door open" lockout.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

When the door is actually open, is there a light on? Is that light on when it's closed?

On that old model the light is sadly only on when operating, so in this case closed+ button slightly pressed
