There's less than three frames per second average between the 7700 (non X) and the 9700X.

Budget (including currency):
preferably around 1750€, a lot of the parts ive listed (like the mobo) I can get cheaper at another hardware store, thats the reason for some of the options chosen.

Country:
I live in Finland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:
I want it to play Marvel Rivals, Warhammer total war 3 etc, currently I have 3 monitors, main screen 1080p 144hz but ill probably upgrade to a 1440p 144hz screen. Also I wanna do some streaming.

Other details
Im upgrading from a RTX 3060 and Ryzen 5 3800X, Im planning on buying it well, now.

Any particular reason you are going 14700k over an AM5 CPU?

I can't think of a case where he would be correct and also, even after the microcode updates and everything, the highend 13/14 gen intel chips still seem to be failing.

He keeps up with these thing meanwhile I dont. I used https://technical.city/en/cpu to compare the ryzen 7 9700x that I was gonna go with originally to the 14700KF and he seemed to be right.

Other than the x3D cpu's, Intel mops the floor with AMD. The locked i7 cpu's are good as gold.

No need to get an unlocked cpu. The difference between the locked 12 gen i7 and unlocked i7 is one frame per second. I doubt it's changed much if any with the 13 and 14 gen cpu's.

"mops the floor" is an overstatement, not really false but not really 100% of the story either

It is better as in gives more frames

But lets factor in prices as well

the 14700K gives 4-5 frames more (rounded difference) but for a more than noticable price increase +you get upgradability and more future support and you skip the intel i7 and i9 issues

If you disagree with anything I've said tell my why with logic not feeling

If you wanna correct smb do so with logic not anecdotes and feelings

No issues with the locked cpu's tmk. Personally I would go with the 7700 (non X) and a B850 board + RTX 5070 Ti.

I cant say with 100% certainty that is was or wasnt the whole i7 and i9 line up of the 14th and 13th gen so I wont make any definitive statements on that

What I will say and agree is with the GPU choice as the 7700 non x can be found for less than even a 9600x and around 200 euros depending on where you are ie the same suggested price as a 7600/7600x

A b850 board I can also agree on based on budget but a b650 isnt a bad choice either

the 5070ti I will disagree on tho as the EU see worse prices than the US or Asia

Case and point, a 5070 ti where I live is like 1200 to 1500 euros

Less than €1900 and gives the OP a board and gpu with PCIe 5.0 support. 16GB of VRAM is a noticable step up from the 12GB that comes with the 5070 when gaming at 1440P. Difficult to recommend a AMD gpu when the OP intends on streaming.

I never said to go Nvidia in the first place

My go to would be a used 4080s or a 9070xt since (according to some, including LTT) the new 9000 series cards actually do remarkably well in streaming, even compared to nvidia

As for I just stated that a b650 could also suffice not that I would prefer it over a b850 for this budget

How future proof is the 7700? I want the system to last me a while preferably without needing upgrades, wouldnt it make more sense to get something like a 9700?

finding a used card for a fair price is almost impossible here, but i could get a 9070xt for 900 just like the 5070ti.

9700 no x isnt available yet and why?

it'll be a while before ryzen 7000 goes "bad" and it'll last you 4-5 years (unless some catastrophe strikes like your PC blowing up cause... idk you got cursed by a gremling or smt?)

And when the time comes you put in a new CPU and bam you are good to go with a singular component upgraded instead of needing a new mobo ram and CPU

9700x can be even with 14700k in games

9700x isn't that far off from 7700(x), even though one is more recent, the other has similar amount of cores for example

AM5 is futureproof, that's what's appealing about the platform, relatively cheaper than Intel in some countries, faster and non-dead platform.
