RTX 4080 or RTX 5070ti

Greeting Everyone,

Couple of months ago my very fine GPU died (RTX 3080), I saved enough money to buy a new one 
thanks to Nvidia the prices are all over the place for the 5000 series 
In India, the price for RTX 5070 Ti is around 1300$ - 1400$ (these are for the cards from Gigabyte and Asus) 
and the RTX 4080 is around 1250$ - 1350$ 
both have similar performance but I am confused about which one to buy. I need some help on which option would be the best one to buy.
I used my previous GPU for game dev (UE5, Blender, Maya etc) , games like (Cyberpunk2077, FH5) and AI/ML projects 
CPU : i7 12700k

the 4080 will do better in most things, how did your 3080 die?

I replaced the thermal paste about a week ago, making sure to cover the entire surface of the die. However, while testing ray tracing in UE5, my system suddenly shut down. I initially thought it might have been due to a power spike, but afterward, my GPU stopped working entirely. I even visited the Gigabyte service center.  I have attached an image of it after it had died.
