I've been using FileOptimizer for years and never had problems, but after switching to RX 9070 XT, it basically always crashes my GPU after like 5 images and I'm trying to figure out what's going on. This program uses GPU too to process images at certain optimization steps, just to let you know it's not just random GPU crash but something related to compute probably.

Can folks with RX 9070 series cards do me a favor, can you use this tool (it's portable, doesn't require any installation, just unpack it somewhere):

https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/fileoptimizer-portable

throw in at least 10+ JPG files, preferably also large ones like 10-20 MB in size (make a copy of them first somewhere because it changes original images directly) and set it to highest optimization level and set JPG to "Allow Lossy" in its settings. Fire up the optimization and let me know if GPU driver crashes for you too or not. In my case display just goes black, everything locks up and then I get AMD's popup notifying me of an unexpected issue. I really like FileOptimizer because it's the best tool to make image files smaller without any quality loss when using Lossless modes and can also make files smaller in lossy way with no noticeable loss in quality which is super useful because it makes photos really so much smaller, but doesn't really degrade any quality that you could notice even with side by side comparison. So, it's pretty important tool for me and I want to figure this one out.

Many thanks to everyone willing to potentially crash the GPU driver on purpose 馃檪
