Not a great design.
Lasted just four weeks and now waiting for warranty comms.

The fast trigger is far too weak a hinge to support even moderate pressure during fast shooting game play.

Support on discord has been quick and I only broke it last night (playing Skyrim...again ... )

It's a great controller functionally but durability is not there.

For context, I trained with BNFL in the UK in the early 80s as a design draughtsman so I like to think I understand material science and engineering. Even if that wasn't my final career up to my recent retirement.

If you are going to test a product and recommend it you need to drop it and kick it a few times.

I was only playing as it is designed to be used. The trigger simply collapsed due to that hinge being way too light and small.

Any way a heads up to any prospective buyers.

Now we will see how good the warranty process is.......................

Oh wow, I have 3 SMX controllers, one of them has been heavily used on PC and this hasn't been my experience with them at all. I'd probably say it's the best 3rd party controller I've used. Sorry you've had an issue though. Hopefully you're able to get it sorted.

It's a great controller other than failing within a month.

It looks like a moulding fault.

Possibly inadequate time in the mould or a cold spot. Maybe feedstock contamination.

SMX ran out of stock a couple of times since Xmas so may have ramped up production.

Just a heads up in case others have issues in coming months.

I still think the trigger hinge is a bit lightweight for the fast trigger function. But that's my designer brain looking at it post failure. It's a high load directed onto the hinge from the striking pin with nothing to absorb any stress under extreme play. That switch will take a beating over time.

And I'm a pensioner with weakened hands from age and career related abuse.

Can't complain about customer service.

Response on discord at start of business Monday and this morning notification about replacement controller to be dispatched asap.

Well that's good. Hopefully it was a one off.
