so i am buying a corsair ML120 case fan and confused if i should keep my current fan and use both and if i use both which fan should go where? as i have an old school case, with lack of mounting option and terrible airflow i am kinda in a dilemma because having side fan can be a boon for providing much needed extra cooling in such restrictive case but again it can be finicky if you are taking off sidepanel and fiddling around with your rig regularly. Someone here suggested me to keep only rear fan because i have low powered components such as 1050 ti and i3 10105f.

this might seem like a more generalized question but... why did you purchase a fan that has nowhere to mount?

well again , installing a computer fan will require..... taking the side panel off and fiddling around with the rig.

Did you buy it in hopes that you weren't going to have to open the machine or?

i do have spare side fan mounting option, i am thinking about mounting my original fan there and corsair fan i bought to rear because corsair fan has much better airflow. I still think my cpu won't go over 70c but due to rpcs3 being so cpu intensive (like a stress test) it reached 75c. Summers have just started it is expect to rise 8-10c more when it peaks.

i mean, when you have side fan it requires you to be a little careful about not stretching cable so it remains in good shape or breaking off 4pin connector, but i think the cable on fan would long enough because it's a decent premium one.

that's not overheating at all

how would you be breaking the fans connector

but summers have just started and i am likely to face much higher ambient temps which might raise it around 80c.

yeah i had a side fan for couple of years and it was fine and i did fiddle around with my rig alot in meantime so ig it should be fine but i don't prefer or like that idea because you still need to be slightly careful when doing stuff
