Is this 1200€ pc build well balanced - or can I do better?

Hello,

a friend wants to buy a new PC and asked me if a Lenovo prebuilt for 1200€ was a good idea. As you can imagine, it wasn’t great (RTX 4060 with 8GB VRAM...). So, I offered to build him a much better PC for around the same price. He wants to game at 1440p.

Build so far:

• MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX --- 154€

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X --- 224€

• CPU COOLER: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE --- 42€

• GPU: XFX Speedster QICK 319 RX 7800 XT 16 GB --- 480€

• RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 --- 88€

• STORAGE: Crucial P3 Plus 1 TB --- 70€

• PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 750 W --- 116€

Price together --- 1266€

Alternatives:

• CASE: PHANTEKS XT Pro --- 58€

• MOTHERBOARD: ASROCK B650 PG LIGHTNING --- 159€

• PSU: THERMALTAKE Toughpower GF3 750W --- 130€

Questions:

1. Do you think this build is well balanced in terms of price to performance?

2. Would it make more sense to go with a cheaper case?

3. Is the ASRock motherboard a better choice than the Gigabyte?

4. Both PSUs are A+ rated in SPL’s PSU Tier List. Is it worth paying a bit more for the Thermaltake for better connectivity?

5. Is it viable to wait for new AMD GPUs like rx 9060 xt instead?

Asrock and Gigabyte both make good boards. Try and find a set of 2x16GB DDR5-6000 CL30. Also check out the German sites on Geizhals seeing how some of them such as Amazon.de and Computer Universe for example ship to the Czech Republic.

Thanks! I checked it out and it is really same performance as 7600X, found it for 158€, so it saves quite a bit :).

I found deal on GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2 (184€) so I will go with that in the end.

Cheapest CL30 ddr5 kit I could find is 110€, is it worth paying + 22€ for that?
