Budget (including currency): Under 1000 USD

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Modern warfare, CSGO, etc.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): either 1440p 144hz or 1080p >144hz peripherals included in cost. I would want to stay on AM5 or LGA 1700

With only $1000 and including peripherals your list is pretty good !

I'd just swap the SATA SSD for a cheap NVme

Then you could try getting a better GPU on the used market, 6600XT for example

This is an overall great build.

I would have liked to see a M.2 SSD in there instead of a 2.5'' but I am nitpicking at this point.

The GF1 PSU is a good unit and 750w is plenty enough for future GPU upgrades 🙂  I ran a 7700x + overclocked 4080 on a 750w. There are cheaper PSU's out there like the MSI A650BN. The MSI is a reliable budget unit but only has 5 year warranty and the 10 year warranty on the GF1 is the way to go at this price point.

Be aware that Ryzen 7000 does NOT like 4 sticks of RAM so if you plan to get 32GB later you are basically required to buy a new 2x16GB kit instead of adding another 2x8GB of RAM.

Overall, I like it.  Hinjima approved 👍

Alright, thanks for the tips, I didn't think the ssd would matter too much, but if it is only $5 more, that would be a good switch.

This will be a great first build!

Other than the issues already pointed out, I really would try to swap this out. 2x8GB kits actually have a fair bit less performance than their 2x16GB counterparts, where a 4800 CL40 in 2x16GB would actually perform about the same but with double the capacity. If every dollar matters, get the cheapest 2x16GB kit (odds are it will actually be slightly cheaper), but if you can spare a few extra dollars just get a 6000 CL36 or preferably 6000 CL30 kit like one of these (it really is less than $5 more):
