So I have had an ASUS B660i STRIX and 12700KF for a couple years and am currently using it to type this so it works. I bought a 14900kf and for some reason after I installed it there are no light, 1 of 5 fans working, and it does not post. I have the 3601 bios which is the latest and says it's supported but I am wondering if there was a cpu issue if it was even possible for it to have no motherboard lights. I am so confused with this.

almost certainly a motherboard issue, I've built tons of PCs and motherboards and sometimes RAM are the most likely to be Dead on arrival. Also before changing hardware, ensure every single cable and wire that you need is plugged in where it needs to go securely.

But how is it a motherboard issue if I am using it right now with a previous generation cpu?
