So i'm looking to build new PC's for the office (just gonna be 4, small office 馃槃聽). The old ones were i7 7700K with an assortment of GPU's to get 3x 4K screens to work.

I'm trying to find out if a Ryzen 7700X can drive 3 monitors, i realize it will depend on the motherboard if it has that many outputs. But i am unable to find correct info on this.

Most searches just end up speaking about using a GPU and never mention if the CPU can do it (lots of confirmed 2 screens tho)

Usage would be Office, Web applications and 2D Autocad (electrical drawings and such for buildings)

Looking for the answer to 2 questions:

1. Can the AMD 7700X support 3 screens at 4K when paired with the correct motherboard?

2. If it cannot, what GPU would be best pair? 6600 / 3060?

I think it can, but there can be issues with shared bandwidth (with IGPs, generally) and I don't know if/how that would impact you.

What refresh are the monitors?

Meanwhile on the display controller side of matters, this is the block that鈥檚 enabling Ryzen 7000 CPUs to drive up to 4 4K@60Hz displays. The iGPU display controllers can drive HDMI 2.1 up to its maximum 48Gbps data rate, or it can drive a DisplayPort 2.0 output at up to the UHBR10 data rate (a feature not even found on NVIDIA鈥檚 forthcoming RTX 40 series cards). And as mentioned previously when talking about motherboards and chipsets, motherboard vendors will have the option of exposing these DP outputs either via USB-C alt mode, or by implementing fixed DisplayPorts. All of which, in turn, can be used as active display outputs even if a discrete video card is installed, via AMD鈥檚 new hybrid graphics mode.

Yes. For example my X670E Taichi has its HDMI port聽and聽two USB4 Type C ports connected directly to the iGPU and can output to all three at 4K at the same time without issue. Tested this myself with my old 7900x. Ryzen 7000/9000 chips all have the same iGPU.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -聽 Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2

Ryzen 7 5800x - XFX RX6600 - Asus STRIX B550i - 32GB DDR4-3200CL14 - Corsair SF750 - Lian Li O11 Mini - EK 360 AIO - Asus PG348Q

60Hz

The only GPU "heavy" thing would be Autocad in 2D聽

So it looking like i just need to find a motherboard that supports 3 outputs, the screen themselves have both HDMI and DP as inputs

Gigabyte's B650M DS3H has 2x DP and 1x HDMI and says it can support up to 3x outputs in the description.
