I'm starting to get into doing some light novice video editing with a friend who is doing family interviews with a GoPro Hero 13 to preserve family history while his grandparents are still alive. It's been about 10 years since I have done any editing at this point so I am dusting off the rust and watching YouTube tutorials. He's hoping to show it at the next family reunion.

While editing some test footage in Resolve he gave me using his current setup, the audio just sucks. Any suggestions for a reasonable audio microphone that would work? I've looked at some Rhode lav mics on Amazon. Been seeing them all over youtube. I'm thinking it makes sense to get something nice so we can reuse in the future. Buy once cry once mentality.

Last thing I'm worried about is sync issues with the GoPro audio footage given my novice level at this point on video editing. Not sure if they have one that integrates with with the GoPro other than the mic mod and voice isolation setting on the camera it's self we've tried both. Was thinking of holding up the receiver to the camera when starting so can get the timecode and line it up that way.

Not sure what audio input you're using, but I've been using these for years with phenomenal results.

Probably the best prosumer option out there before you start getting into the multiple thousands like what LTT uses
