This pc was given to me by my uncle

It has a radeon r9 390x devil GPU

A Intel core i5 6600k CPU

32GB of ddr4 G Skill ram

An msi Z170i motherboard

(Missing storage)

the pc also has a corsair h100i liquid cooler

I just want to know, will this pc be able to run any modern games?

The components are rather old but it will run games!

Modern AAA games will struggle but if you lower the settings and play at 1080p you should be alright for some games 🙂

It depends on the game of course.  CyberPunk 2077 will struggle but it will play Far Cry 6 at 1080p with medium/high settings at 60fps.

TLDR: Its nothing fancy but it will play games.  Beats quite a few setups that people have. Just lower your settings 🙂

I actually had a 6600k and a r9 290 Tri-X back in the day.  Ran a lot of games really well!

overclock cpu to 4.6-4.8ghz or whatever vcore 1.35v gets you with rams overclock to ddr4 3200 or ddr4 4000 depending on the ic but you can just send a thaiphoon burner screenie here to confirm ic

once overclocked it should run pretty decently though dont expect new triple a releases cause that gpu is old and that cpu is a pure quadcore

I think the lack of latest driver is going to be the bigger issue. 22.6.1 is the last supported driver for 390x. I would definitely swap this at first convenience especially with Vanguard and EAC blocking PCs with outdated drivers.

But beyond that and probably CPU bottleneck on 6/12 optimized DirectX 12 titles? Its pretty awesome for free.99.
