anyone know how to figure out what device this is? it keeps randomly connecting disconnecting non stop and it's driving me nuts. 

system spec

cpu 9800x3d

mobo asus x670e crosshair hero

ram 2x 32gb corsair dominator plat 6000mhz cl 30

gpu asus astral 5090

ssd 4tb sn850x

psu lian li gold edge 1200w

i tried doesn't seem like any of them are using it at least externally.. i looked up my device manager doesn't look like it's my fan controller either

Welcome to the forums!
If it's not any identifiable peripheral, then maybe it's one of your empty ports being wonky. You could try populating every USB port with random stuff and see if the problem goes away

thx hmm the x670e hero have quite a few usb ports + the case itself i dunno if i can populate every single port i do have one device that shows up as unknown device can't find drivers for it and i have no idea what it is.. and there's another device that say unknown usb device device descriptor request failed. not sure if those 2 are my issues

Probably is. 
I assume you have unplugged each device one by one and made sure that unknown device doesn't disappear.
For populating all the ports, you could just grab a 20 pack of USB drives and plug them all in

I’ve no idea what they are I’ll just disable them and see if it changes anything first

there a software that shows what usb is doing i think this was the one i used?

 

for me i had a laptop and there was a setting that was on when power drops it disables the usb ports.

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx
