I've recently made a upgrade, PSU (RM1000x), MOBO(MSI B550 Gaming Plus) and GPU (MSI RTX 5080 [got it for msrp, don't judge me]). Before the upgrade none

of this happened and I've never came across this so l'm a little confused, I did a little research and found something about a relay or something but nothing about the blinking leds, my old PSU was 8 years old, a CX650 so I don't know if that one has this relay thing, if it's a relatively new feature in psu's. Close up video in turning on and the other one turning off (this one I recorded in slow motion, in reality it's way faster). Also,I don't know if it's worth mentioning but I have a HyperX audio mixer and in the last setup it would turn on and off with the system no problem, in the new one my speaker makes a huge boom sound turning on and off when connected directly to the pc, this I fixed by just connecting the mixer in a USB on my monitor, don't know if it's related tho.

It might just be my computer but your videos do not load. Let's start with what device has blinking LED's I'm confused.

Changing out core components if any of them have a defect can cause blinking LEDs on the motherboard if it has that troubleshooting feature.

Sorry, I'm new to forums, the LEDs that blink is from corsairs sp120 fans, they are connected to the RGB hub that comes with them, which is SATA power. One thing I forgot to mention is that I've changed the cable from the GPU, I was using the adapter and now I'm using a third party one, the difference being the adapter uses 3 type4 connectors on the PSU and the third party uses only 2 type4

OK. Correct me if I am wrong: the fans used to work fine, then you replaced a few PC components, and now your corsair fans RGB doesn't come on. This is both at power-up, and after booting up Windows and the Cue software. The fans do spin, however. You open Cue software and nothing you do makes any difference to the RGB. The only time you see any light from the fans is when you initially turn on the PC, when they just flash quickly then go off. Is that all correct? You went on so many tangents it's kind of hard to follow, I'm afraid.

If the fans connect to the Corsair controller, and it connects to the SATA power and USB internal header and nothing else, then the issue is with one of those and not with your GPU, it's power or the PSU - if the PC turns on at all, and if you can play games, then all of that is fine. No more tangents!

Unplug the Corsair controller from SATA and USB, plug them both back in again. Try a different SATA plug and a different USB header, if you have the options. Make sure you are connecting the USB to an actual USB header and not to a similar looking header on the motherboard. If you unplugged the fans from the controller during the upgrade, check/reseat those too.

Your motherboard is new - make sure Windows has up to date drivers for it from the manufacturer's website - if you are using unsuitable USB drivers, perhaps that is the problem.

It may also be worth uninstalling and reinstalling the Cue software. Try this first.

I also have Corsair fans and controller, and the RGB is set to a particular colour before Cue software even loads - I find it strange that you are not getting at least this power-on colour (I'm assuming you've got pretty recent fans and controller, like me). Perhaps you have not configured them to do so? If not, please see if doing so does anything - if so, the issue may be purely software-based.

Did you do the upgrade yourself? If so, forgive me, but do you know what you are doing? - can we assume that you did not plug anything into entirely the wrong socket?

Oh - only turn your mixer on once your PC is already on to avoid the noise.

I have this fans for a while now, both the RGB hub and the pwm hub doesn't even have the plastic housing, I set them to not turn the lights on without Icue loaded (if I remember correctly is called hardware setting right?) I have just come home from work and I'm going to start switching connectors to see if it makes a difference.

I've built some computers by now, it's just that it's my first time with a 12vhpwr and messing around with like, middle to high power components, and with all the 4090 and 5090 melting connectors every bit o weird behavior that happens I'm getting extra cautious.

I got the new PSU and mobo in preparation for the 5080, I've swapped them on still with my old GPU, a 3070 and waited for the 5080 to arrive. With the 3070 the PSU wasn't clicking when on and off, the fans wasn't blinking when turned off, and if I remember correctly (I've turn my PC on and off so many times at this point trying to figure this out), it wasn't doing that with the 5080 using the adapter, I think it started when I changed to a third party cable, this is what I going to test today, alongside changing the connector for the SATA cable on the PSU.

The mixer o got is just bad, it's USB, doesn't have a power button, it justs turn on with the pc, it didn't make the noise before, I don't remember when it started (probably when I swapped the mobo) but there's probably some setting in the bios related to USB power when turning on or something, I'm not really worried about that, I was wondering if it was related but I guess it's not.

Yeah, I think you might be overthinking it a bit!

Concentrate on the controller and its connections. Make sure you haven't bent any motherboard pins on the USB header too.

Changing the SATA cable might be a good idea, but if the fans flash a bit of light at any point, I think that means it's more likely to do with signals than power.

I think you're right - it's called Hardware mode. It might be worth trying - it may let you know that it is not really hardware related after all.
