After having multiple issues (sudden freezing, CPU Stuck at 200MHz, touch not working, and more...) with my current Surface, I want to move away from the MS Surface products and find a new device. I'm looking for a touch and pen capable device, that can lay flat on the table and a swappable SSD. 16 GB of RAM would be nice, too. Due to the programs I must use, it has to be a windows capable device.

Any recommendations on devices that just work? I don't need another device that keeps disturbing my workflow.

How about something like the Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable? We see it come through often with a i7 1180G7/16GB RAM/256GB NVME SSD It's a glass touchscreen, can come with a pen, it lays flat, and has a detachable keyboard. and usually comes with a 1920x1280 display.

Caveot being I don't know if either the storage or the RAM can be swapped out. They might be soldered. I'll have to look that up.

Also it only has USB-C thunderbolt ports so any of your USB devices would have to be connected using a USB-C dock or dongle.

Having been hands on with both those they feel fairly similar. I don't imagine you'd have a hard time getting used to the feel of it. Though the default pen it comes with is semi-flat which you can see in photos online but I have seen round ones that usually came with the 8th gen model. You could probably get one that works if that's an issue.
