I don't have much time these days to game and not the best concentration span. I have Just the odd hour here and there so haven't really got into any  games much lately. Played a bit of the last of us, just love looking at the 4k visuals mainly! like sports games, first person shooters that you don't have to play for ages between checkpoints. don't like minecraft/role play games at all/.

I like games like fifa (or whatever its called) also Undisputed (Boxing game) that I can pick up and have a quick blast for half an hour or so

Any recommendations? Something with nice visuals as this 4k monitor only ever gets used for youtube and porn (joke 🙂 )

Thanks chaps

If it's still on steam I bought snooker nation championship for £1, it's not bad for a blast.  Graphics are good, the supposed AI is a bit suspect and the audio from the spectators is atrocious.   the Devs who are still in operation Cherry pop studio just abandoned the game so there are no updates or DLC's.

For £1 that's giving it away.  There is a multiplayer function, I don't do online gaming so can't comment on it.  I'm on an ARC A770 16 GB, Ryzen 5 5600X. 64GB 3600 RAM using a flatscreen 40 inch TV capped out at 72Hz and the detail is damn good, every light reflection on the balls is crisp.

As someone already mentioned the Forza games (I like Horizon 5) are great for this, Teardown is amazing to just turn your brain off and chill. Titanfall 2 can get pretty intense at times in the (rather short) campaign but for the most part checkpoints are frequent enough that I never got stuck for more than 10-15 minutes at a time on normal difficulty. Superhot is one of my all-time favorite games, the levels are short and not crazy difficult, that said they will take you a few tries and there's tons of replayability with endless mode and challenges and stuff. That one's not all that graphically impressive though. I haven't played the campaign of this one, but Halo Infinite looks really fun for just chilling at the end of a long day. Immortals of Aveum might be interesting, I don't think I would reccomend the rather high $60 price tag but if you have Humble Choice ($12 a month and you can see the games before you autopay so you can skip a month any time you want) it could be worth it.

If motorsports count...Super Tux Kart, the free & open source Mario Kart clone with FOSS mascots. Perfect for short gaming times. And despite the Linux theme, it's also available for Windows.
