Hi all,

So essentially, I have added on a 4TB m.2 from Crucial (P3 Plus) to act as a "Games Drive". So the issue is that installing epic game has some issues. It runs normally, but the wizard then gives an error message. Which is attached. I have also attached an image of device manager for my drives. The Samsung evo is my boot drive and the other one should be the Crucial P3 Plus

Please help me and let me know how I can go about resolving this

I'd install the epic games launcher on the C drive then, and put your games on the new SSD.

Unfortunately, I get the same error, even when installing the epic games launcher on the c drive

For cases like this, you need to go to Event viewer and read the Application log, why it failed.
Has nothing to do with your drives unless its write protected.

Run a benchmark and check that you can actually write to it. The Epic Games Launcher is kind of a POS, but this error message is from the installer itself.

https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/c-Category_EpicGamesStore/c-EpicGamesStore_LauncherSupport/i-can-t-install-the-epic-games-launcher-a000084755

If you can write to the drive, then uninstall any previous Epic Games Launcher you have, or switch to that Microsoft Store version and see if that one will install. I don't personally like the Microsoft store for anything involving games because stuff gets buried deep into the Windows "appdata" and becomes a huge pain to remove when something does go wrong.

The other thing I'd suggest is that if you have an AV product other than Microsoft's, pause it to do the install and see if that works.

Here are the event logs for the drive. Tbh, I got no clue on what they mean. If it helps the log name for all three are "Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP/Device Configuration"

Yeah that's not related to installer. You need to run it again, check the recent Windows Logs -> Applications
Usually there's an exclamation point error. Example:

If it's a .msi installer, you can even have it create log file by executing this command.

msiexec /i "installer.msi" /l*v "log.log"

You're in C:\Windows\System32 location.
You need to navigate to your Downloads folder, or whatever location you have it located. It can't see the file.

Or open terminal in that location right away, hold down shift and right click the folder.
