As soon as I can afford micro LED displays, I’m ditching OLED.

QDEL has the potential to come in about the same amount of time with much less price.

From what i've read it'll still bloom, not a huge improvement over mini-led so it's not something that i'm hyped about.

Any improvement on color volume on existing oled tech is welcomed tho.

The current QD-OLED is pretty hard to beat.

Micro LED is also self-emitting pixels.  I thought that was the only reason for blooming?

Why would it still have a bloom issue?

Each subpixel is an LED which means each pixel is self-emitting just like an OLED.

Exactly

In theory, MicroLED displays should offer perfect blacks, excellent color, and near-perfect off-angle viewing, just like OLED, but they should also be even brighter, very slim, immune to burn-in, and, in the long run, less expensive to make than OLED. Source

above a certain brightness, it'll likely bleed over, There's very few articles on this but a couple of them only mentions "reduced blooming" that gets worse as brightness goes up and gap between each pixel that shows up as lines if you sit close enough, so it's still alot bigger than oled pixels atm, it's expected to have full coverage of rec2020 tho. Either way the tech is a definitely not even close ready for monitors yet.

It's years away I mean we just got OLED monitors lately. I bought one recently. Be it MicroLED or QDEL tech it will take quite a bit time to come to monitors and at decent prices like what we have today.
