MSI A850GL vs Superflower Leadex VII XG 850?

The Superflower model costs about $30 more than the MSI one. I’ve heard that it is an excellent unit. However, since the PSU doesn’t affect performance/framerate, I am reluctant to spend more on it than would be sufficient.

 

What do you think?

Both are great units.  I have heard complaints of the AGL's fan being somewhat audible during heavy operation.

I do like myself a SuperFlower unit.

 

But both will perform great.

I would definitely pay a bit more for the superflower, since it's an A tier, while the GL is B tier, which also doesn't even have a 0 rpm mode

I looked at the A Tier and it listed the Superflower LeadeX VII Gold, but not the XG. Is it the same unit?

I agree.  Considering its a unit you will have for the next 10 years, $30 ain't that much.

I mean, it would power a Ryzen 9800X3D and a RTX 5080 without any issues.

I would say Yes to that unless you plan on going all out with a 5090.

That is fair enough! I’m only getting a 7600 and 7800xt for now and won’t upgrade for a while. Cheers!

Oh then 850w is plenty    You could in theory power that on a solid 550w.

So 850w will give you pleeenty of room for future upgrades.

 

The 7600 is a 65w CPU and the 7800 XT draws around 260-270w during full load.  You could power two of these systems with that SuperFlower 850w.

 

I had a 7700x and overclocked RTX 4080 and I saw around 420-480w full system power during heavy gaming.

Indeed!  

SuperFlower is my favorite PSU brand!  

 

No Problem!  7600 and a 7800 XT is a very good machine.

The 7600 is my favorite CPU on the market right now.
