a used 4080 would be my recommendation.  The performance difference is very low.

If you're fine with waiting 3-4 months before the retail availability normalizes. You can also wait for 5070ti - if it costs anywhere near MSRP then it's better than 4080.

if you where going to try go get a 5080 any way maybe look for a 4090 ? (atleast in the netherlands they are going for a tiny bit under the price of a 5080(starts at 2000 euro's and second hand 4090 starting at 1800)

That's a lot of "ifs"... I'd get the 4080, the 5080 is barely better so I suspect the 5070Ti won't

Here there are close ish to the price of MSRP 5080 founders depending on what 5080 or 5080 super your looking at and who's selling it. Stores are sold out of 4080s and scalpers are out of control

And from what god-forsaken source you get that info? Check out any YT comparison - you'll see 40-50 fps more.

Oh yeah ? Got that from the NGreedAI lying marketing ads with x4 FG compared to x2 ? 😄

Real data is +10%, taken from TPU below but all other serious benchmarks (GN, HWU, DerBauer, etc..) confirms the same

Hmm, this article talks about ~15% up from 4080 Super at 4k. Fair to give it a 20% over 4080?

I see +9% at 1080p and +13% at 4K, so no definitely not +20%

I can only agree that the 5080 is better, but it's so hard to find at MSRP than the 4080 is still a better choice if you have to build now

But I just noticed that while we do have a few 4080s at MSRP in Europe it now seems mostly out of stock in the US, so maybe you just can't build 😞

Almost every review shows less than 10-15%.  I guess that could be 40-50fps on top of 350+ fps games...

To be fair it seems you can get another 10% overclocking.

Where it matters it isn't enough to make a difference.

1080p is irrelevant. 11-13% plus whatever is the difference between Super and non. If the 4080 would be 200-300$ cheaper then sure.

Difference between 4080 and 4080S is 2% .. But ok it adds up to +15% then 🙂

if you are going to reverse the percentages, you did the math wrong.

if the 4080 super said 50%, that means the 5080 is 100% better, not 50% better.

Normalizing 4080 to 100, the 5080 is 15% better at 4k, 12% at QHD, and 10% better at FHD.

Anyways 5080 also overclocks another 10-15%, so thats,  26-32% better at 4k then the 4080 super at stock, which also does not overclock well so even though its not apples to apples, its not like the 4080 super can get another 10%.

Not many people did an OC on the launch review because they got used to the last three generations of nvidia cards just... not overclocking.

OK I did quick math on the data I was given, it's 1% off on a 10% difference...

Didn't factor OC in tho

But overall a 20% generational jump isn't good, sure it's okay at same price, but you can't find 5080 anyway
