Does the asrock b450m hdv v4.0 support the ryzen 5 4500(non g) out of the box?
When motherboards are made, they are given the latest BIOS. So whether it has support out of the box will depend on its date of manufacture.
The Ryzen 5 4500 was launched in April 2022. The B450 HDV R4.0 first got BIOS support in March 2022 with version 4.90.
So unless the board was manufactured before March 2022, it's going to have support out of the box.
If you're buying this board new, the odds that it's been sitting on a shelf for almost 3 years is basically zero. It's technically possible, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy it new for a Ryzen 5 4500 system.
With that said, the R5 3600 is faster than the Ryzen 5 4500 in basically everything, and the support for the R5 3600 goes all the way back to May 2019. So if you can get a Ryzen 5 3600 for the same price, it would actually be better.
