New pc randomly shuts down while gaming & starts non stop buzzing

The titles says it all, randomly shuts down while gaming like random instant stop and then constant BZZZZZZZZZZ

why is that??

Full spec list please.

And the ''BZZZ'' noise you are hearing is it coming from the PC itself or your headset / speakers?

Please try to be as detailed as possible, it helps us out as well.

ya... umm... where does the sound come from?  front, back... middle...?

also are there still any lights when it's "shut off"?

to be frank i think you should unplug the pc and not turn it on again until you clarified what's exactly going on... or at least do not leave the pc unattended for even a second while its running, or plugged into power.

additional info needed:

This might be the problem i think, 95c. How could that happen??? Is the cpu not pressed against the cooling plate enough or something?

95 is not unheard of for a Ryzen 7000 / AM5 CPU.

What exact CPU do you have and what exact cooler do you have?

This picture gives is very little information.

For a Ryzen 7000 and 9000 CPU its actually acceptable.

However, seeing a 100% usage on the 9800X3D is strange.

What are you running that uses this CPU to 100% usage?

Idek i just started up marvel rivals that one time, the other time i was playing cod bo6 for 15 minutes. And at one time i just downloaded dx12. Those were the times that it crashed.

could it be a bios thing? Where the bios needs an update

Since the bios is from march 2024 (before the cpu came out)

Okay. Did the CPU reach 95c while staring Marvel Rivals, COD Bo6?

Did YOU build this system?

That is very strange and unlikely?  Since the B650 motherboards needs a BIOS update for the 9800X3D to work.

If it somehow is kinda slightly working and the BIOS update is from March 2024.. Update the BIOS asap.

Are you able to go into the BIOS and check what exact BIOS version you are running?

Do you think the bios could be to problem?

its now idle in the bios running at 40c (even though the corsair lcd screen says liquid temp 34c)

Bios version 2616

As I see from this motherboard there have been a few BIOS updates after the 2616 version that improves stability and performance of the Ryzen 9000 series of CPU's on this motherboard.

I do recommend updating the BIOS to either 3057 or 3067 and go from there.

Thats fine.  CPU temp and liquid temp is completely different.

Acceptable idle temps.

No Problem. Lets go from there, please tag me here again if you need more help with this issue.

We will figure this out somehow 🙂

I also recommend turning off the iGPU in the BIOS.

As this can cause conflicts with the RTX 4090.  As you see it also reads Radeon Graphics from the onboard GPU.

I had my own problems with my Ryzen 7700x and 9800X3D with the iGPU conflicting with radeon drivers with my RTX 4080.

If you ever have to return the 4090 or it fails, you can remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard ( Silver / Black battery on the motherboard ) for a little bit and it will reset the BIOS settings ( Not version ) and you get your iGPU back so you can use the PC without a dedicated GPU.

I have an ASUS B650 motherboard myself, I can take a screenshot where in the BIOS the iGPU is to turn off if you can't find it.

yeah something's off, but for the record my b550 needed a bios update too for my 5800x3D,  i didn't  do it though and it worked just fine... but it gave me all those PBO/overclocking functions (that didn't do anything) so i eventually updated... (didn't change much/anything really,  maybe runs slightly cooler with less voltage ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

anyhow, what's with the buzzing,  why would a "wrong" bios do that, couldn't it be the pump / cooler instead?

My gut feeling tells me "corsair!!!"  😂

Yeah if this doesnt work, ill just replace the thermal paste thst came stock with the aio for some noctua paste i got right here and try to screw the pump on ever harder

The BIOS version that he is on number 2616 is actually a BIOS version that has support for the Ryzen 9000 series

I am unsure as he didn't specify what is buzzing if its coilwhine, pump/cooler or a game crashing / freezing and then hearing static/buzzing through the speakers or headphones.

I have had multiple times over the years game just lock up or crash and a constant buzzing until I restart my computer by holding the power button.

Update, the cpu was at 100 bc it was compiling shaders in marvel rivals

Gotcha. That is normal then.

Compiling shaders is a VERY CPU demanding task and whenever I have done that in STALKER 2 or The Last Of Us Part 1 I have seen 100% CPU usage.

My friend also saw this on Marvel Rivals with his own Ryzen 7600, yesterday.

You seeing 100% CPU usage while compiling shaders and 95C is actually normal and nothing to worry about for your 9800X3D.

Even with a beastly AIO that you have.

all safe and normal.
