The motherboard and power supply on my current NAS are dying so it's time to do some upgrades. I'd appreciate hardware suggestions as I've got the dang flu and my research brain isn't working, especially for processor/mobo.

Details:

  • unRAID currently, but will be migrating to HexOS to join a buddy share cluster with family
  • a few game servers and linux VM's
  • Plex
  • reusing current case with space for 8 drives
  • 2.5Gb network
  • prioritize price-to-performance over peak performance
  • Located in USA and have access to Amazon Prime

Here's what I physically have on hand: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/zukakog/saved/#view=ggjbwP

I'll need:

Motherboard (and SATA PCIe card for 8 drives)

Processor (yay cores?)

RAM (64-128 GB)

Powers Supply (for 8 drives)

Thanks!
