1440p gaming build for RTX 4060 (Sweden)

Go to solution Solved by Millios,

For that budget you are not getting your moneys worth in any way shape or form

https://se.pcpartpicker.com/user/OmegaTheMan/saved/LsBF4D

The extra USB ports I assume will be for instruments but you dont need them

Just get a USB hub as you dont really care about latency there

Budget (including currency): ~23000 SEK/2000 EUR

Country: Sweden

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: some AAA gaming but mostly older and less demanding games, streaming, music recording

Other details

Parts I have:

AOC Gaming Q27G2E (27", 1440p, 155Hz); ASUS 24" 1080p 60 Hz monitor; all other peripherals

Upgrading from:

ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming; intel i5-6600K; Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB; Windows 10 Pro

Parts I'm looking into getting:

Gigabyte EAGLE GeForce RTX 4060 OC 8G NVIDIA 8 Go GDDR6

CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 48GB (2x24GB) 6000MHz

Intel Core Unlocked i7-12700KF

Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black CPU fan

SSD M.2 (2280) 4TB SAMSUNG 990 PRO (PCIe/NVMe)

Corsair 4000D Airflow Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Case

Corsair RMx Series RM1000x 80 PLUS Gold Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Windows 11 (Home or Pro?)

a couple of extra fans for the case

I'm having trouble finding what motherboard I should get for this build. Ideally I'd like something with at least 8 USB ports.

I'm not dead set on the components I've listed and am willing to replace them for something else that makes sense as long it stays within budget. Also I'm willing to wait until Black Friday, when they're hopefully on sale.

I don't really play the newest AAA titles, usually I'll play older ones, when they go on sale and casual games. I do however want to play DOOM: The Dark Ages and Witcher IV when they come out.

As I've listed above, I want to have a dual monitor setup with the AOC as my main one and the ASUS as secondary.

Question

Any particular reason why you chose the 7800xt over the 7900gre?

Note

Although there are cheaper ways perhaps the OP wants a legit license so Wouldnt it be better to include it?

Other than those 2 yeah smt like this is also pretty much a good way to spend the budget

7900GRE is a good alternative, I didn't bother to check if local prices makes it worth it that's all

As for Windows I let people choose what they want, many already have keys, it's not like we can really help about that

Can even run Linux, it's free and 95% of games run fine if not better than under windows

Thank you for the suggestions. Aside from knowing how to build a computer I really have no idea, which components are the best.

Are your suggestions taking into account the 1440p monitor or should I get a 1080p one? (The monitor is not included in the PC budget)

Our suggestions were made by the fact you can and do play at 1440p

The list you yourself made was for 1080p and you were mostly locked at that especially with that GPU

Whichever of the two you choose be it mine or the one @PDifolco made you'll get great results
