I am supposed to screw in mother board in (copper colour),socket?

yes, the motherboard sits on top of those brass posts (standoffs) and is held in place by screws that go into the posts. best way to check placement of the standoffs for your particular motherboard is to look at the mounting holes in the board and make sure you have the standoffs in the corresponding locations. Make sure to remove any extra standoffs that would land under your motherboard and do not have a corresponding mounting hole (in the motherboard).

I wonder if this is a thing (It never happened to me).

I'm willing to swim against the current.

Could be, if you weren't paying attention to what you were doing.

I have had this happen but it is uncommon with modern cases/motherboards. Some cases can include support for less common standards (i.e. dtx ) which can mean standoff configurations which do not align with a given motherboard. This can also happen due to some motherboards effectively skipping an mounting hole due to the layout of a board (surface mount components, heatsinks etc.).

It's worth reading through your motherboard manual and case manual.

My brain went totally blank on all computer knowledge when I built my first PC, but all of the supplied component manuals are have all of the information you need.

It looks like you need to move the 2 bottom standoffs up to the next slot since they're currently placed in an ATX layout instead of micro-ATX.
