Hi Folks,

I made a post here a little while back but I thought I would make a new one just to update what I have tried doing to trouble shoot the issue I am having. Here are the details:

The Issue

For the last while/few months, I have been having an issue with what I initially thought was my headset(USB headset) cutting out. Which I now believe is the USB devices plugged into my PC cutting out as while playing games, I have sometimes felt what feels like my mouse stuttering/cutting out for a second. It does not make the USB disconnect noise/headset disconnect noise and only cuts out for a second before coming back.

Troubleshooting

- I have updated the motherboard bios to the latest available version

- I have moved USB dongles around to account for any interference/moved them around to see if it is possibly a faulty port

- I have tested the USB devices on another system to see if I can repeat it with no luck.

- I have turned off the option to allow the pc to turn off the usb ports for power management in device manager

Personally I think the issue may be a motherboard issue, but I have no idea how I can pin point the issue to a specific part/problem and I would greatly appreciate the help from the people here.

The System

Motherboard: Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite Rev 1.1
CPU: Ryzen 7 7700

RAM: G-Skill Trident z5 Neo DDR5 - 6000 MHz

Graphic Card: Gigabyte RTX 4070 Gaming OC 12 GB

Power Supply: Corsair RM750x- 750w 80 PLus GOld fully modular PSU

run your system with only mouse and keyboard connected to usb.

- if that doesnt work, try with a different mouse and/or keyboard

- if that works, add one additional device, rinse and repeat until problems start

if you have any usb hubs in the picture, leave them out for now, if you run out of ports, just remove a known 'not the problem' device and add a new one.

once you run into problems, unplug all but mouse/keyboard, and the suspected problem device. if that rids the problem as well, it's either an interaction between two devices, or the amount of devices.

also try the suspected problem device in multiple ports, if it works in one but doesnt in another, try a known good device in the suspected bad port.

basicly.. start with assuming everything 'may be broken', and work to rule out every individual device, and when necessary interactions between any set of devices.

Cool I'll try this right now, I just have my mouse and keyboard plugged into the PC and I have powered off the headset. Usually its just the headset I notice an issue with so I'll see hwo my mouse is and if I notice anything. I have speakers on my monitor too so I'll see if I hear any cutting out with that.
