Hi,

I bought Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000MTS RAM (2x16GB), but the PC refuses to boot. When I swapped out my previous Corsair Vengeance 5600 ones and put the new ones in, the computer booted just fine. (I did not hit the DEL to enter BIOS in time, so it booted with XMP enabled, but set to 5600MTS). I did the Windows Memory Diagnostic and it found no issues. However, when I restarted the PC and disabled and reenabled XMP so it would set the speed to 6000, it would not boot anymore. Several seconds after hitting the power button (before the BIOS prompt comes up), it restarts and then nothing happens. I thought it was doing memory training, as I have heard that can sometimes happen, but I left it like this for an hour. The coolers are spinning, RGB is lit up everywhere, but there is nothing on the display. No POST lights are lit at that time, as well.

Someone on the internet suggested using XMP 2 profile. I did that and the result was a bit different now: after powering up the system, the TUF logo and loading circle came up and froze couple of seconds later.

Another try - blue screen. Tried with one stick - blue screen. Tried on a different PC - same.

Is there anything else I can try or it is a lost cause and I should throw the new kit into the bin? (Or use it on lower frequency)

EDIT: The RAM model number is CMH32GX5M2E6000C36.

BIOS ver: 1805

P.S. I was going to sell this new RAM kit as part of a build, so please refrain from comments about it being a needless upgrade for my current PC.

I'm assuming the PC you're using is the one in the signature (13700KF/TUF Z790), if not please let us know.

What model number specifically? There's about a dozen kits that fit this description, and that can each have their own quirks that need to be worked around.

Without knowing that, the only thing I can really ask is what BIOS revision are you currently on and what memory slots are you using, since these can both affect the maximum memory speed obtainable.

Yes, I am using that PC.

I edited the post to add model number and BIOS version, so that other people can see it easy.

The slots I use are A2/B2 as recommended in Motherboard manual.

Alright, that memory kit is one of the ones known to have weird compatibility issues depending on the BIOS revision, though the fact that you're on the latest revision would imply that it should be OK (plus with the 13th gen instability issues, I wouldn't recommend changing it anyway). I'm just gonna hazard a guess that the newest BIOS from ASUS for that board has issues working with that kit, and seeing as LGA 1700 is a dead platform there likely won't be a newer BIOS update to fix that in the future. If returning it is an option, do that as you can almost certainly get better kits for the price anyway, though if not you might just be stuck running it at a lower speed.

memory training shines static DRAM LED (with PC powered and fans spinning and black screen)

first option is return,

and apart from trying to see if the stick(s) are somehow faulty or if it's simply BIOS related problem,

Have you tried both sticks individually? To rule out that one of them can't do 6000Mhz?

I would definitely stay on latest version of BIOS, because of Intel's "history" with 13th and 14th gen CPUs.
