Wondering about future Windows hardware compatibility

My friend wants to replace his AMD A10 system for a Windows 11 compatible desktop. We've been scouting Craigslist and FB Marketplace for at least Coffee Lake/Zen+ systems. He wants it for online banking and trading so I will not be putting 11 on unsupported hardware for him. But now I'm wondering if this hardware gen advice might be bad for the coming years.

I'm realy sorry but just to clarify, he needs an upgrade and win11 compatibility is a must?

Yes. His current computer works fine for him, but the issue Microsofts stupid artificial compatibility limits. And he wants to stick with Windows.

Then coffee lake/zen+ is a good baseline. That might be a little sluggish for his use case tho so maybe something like zen3?

as in "his job is daytrading", or "he needs a windows machine to check on his stocks on the weekend"?

because if it is the latter, i'd just get a current or last gen mini pc with some low-mid tier cpu.

Occasional online banking and he's curious about getting into trading on the side.

just grab something low-midtier that's snappy enough, and last or current gen because the more recent it is, the longer we can expect driver support to exist.

AMD A10

What AMD A10 APU does it have as your friend might have a system with a socket AM4 motherboard and it would only need a BIOS update or two to be able to use a windows 11 capable CPU.
