Hi.

Weird.

HDMI to DVI (display is old, don't have HDMI). Bought a cheap cable from AliExpress (HDMI to DVI).

Cable seems to work, but when PC goes to sleep, it won't wake the display up. But it's not just that - sometimes even when PC is off, and turned on, the display won't turn on.

When I change to another PC which have a motherboard with DVI (so DVI to DVI) - all works fine.

PC is fine.

When I change the display to one with HDMI - all fine.

What can this be? Is the cable shitty? Or maybe a bad graphics driver?

Thank you for the advice.

What's the specific device model? A lot of iGPU nowadays cut on analog scaler which means you cant use these kind of cheap passive cables. You have to get an active display adapter to get it to work. Something like this.

I read that initially as not working. I dont know why.

Anyway, if it just cutting in and out of signal, first thing you should check on is make sure that you didnt just warp a pin or two between the DVI cable and the port. Brushing the contacts with alcohol and old toothbrush could also help to clean out the pins for a better connection.

But yeah new cables is always a good sanity check to see if that is whats wrong.

Thank you.

Will try this today.

Can't figure this out.

It's a really cheap mini pc, so maybe something to do with that?

I upgraded the intel gpu drivers to the latest ones, but no difference.
