How far do the bits extend out from the Precision Screwdriver?

I happen to have an LTT Precision kit, (access to) an iFixit Essential kit, and a set of calipers.

 

The LTT bits are 28mm long end-to-end, and the driver's bit socket is 8mm deep, leaving 20mm of bit exposed from tip to socket. For the extremely skinny bits, where the shank is less than 4mm in diameter, the tapered transition between the shank and 4mm hex part protrudes from the socket by 3mm (so you can reach bits about 17mm deep in screw holes).

 

The iFixit Essential's bits are also 28mm long end-to-end, but their bit socket is 13mm deep. This leaves 15mm of bit exposed. The skinny parts are also shorter because the 4mm hex part has to be longer. For example, the iFixit #000 Phillips is 13mm from tip to taper, while the LTT's #000 is about 17mm.

Essentially the title. I have an ifixit kit that cannot reach some of the screws I work with as the shaft of the driver blocks the bit from reaching further. Since the LTT bits hex shank and driver shaft are shorter I was wondering how far the LTT bits and ifixits bits extend out from the shaft of the LTT Precision Driver. I have measured and ideally it would need to be 2cm or a tiny bit more to reach.

 

Technically it's possible to abuse the ifixit 4mm Hex bit as an extension but that isn't magnetic obviously so the bit falls out and it's always a bit more to grab yada yada. Though the bit storage and fidget spinner aren't non-factors either tbh. I'm asking about the ifixit bits length as well because I'm located in Europe so any taxes and additional shipping I can avoid is good and the ifixit has JIS bits which I read the LTT one does not.

Both the LTT and the Ifixit bits are roughly the same in length, 2.8 cm. They extend approximately 2 cm.

Thank you so much for the answers, good to know that it's exactly 2cm, that might cut it extremely close as I've measured the part of the bit that sticks out of the recessed screwhole, admittedly not with calipers as I don't have any on hand rn, and that also comes out to ~8mm but I think it should be fine. I'll try to remeasure it with my dads calipers tonight when I visit him. Thankfully the taper isn't important since the T10 screws in this particular case are basically the same footprint as the bits.

I know you already thought of this, but try using the 4mm nut driver as an extension. It won't really hold onto the T10 bit, but that's actually an advantage here because you don't want it to pull the bit away from the screw head. (I assume that's what's happening with the driver handle by itself.)

 

With the LTT bit set, that combination will get you 22mm of exposed T10 bit before you hit the 6.25mm diameter nut driver, and 42mm overall before you hit the edge of the driver's socket (which is itself 7mm in diameter).

 

If you need more reach than that, I recommend getting a fixed-shaft screwdriver. Mine are all Excelite and Felo branded, so they weren't the cheapest, but I use them a lot.

Yeah that is exactly what's happening and that's technically a solution but I know that it's going to annoy me every time I'll have to do it like that and get the extra bit. And like I said the bit storage (and to an extent the fidget spinner) are also very nice bonuses.
