So as in the topic I'm wondering about can my PSU be compatible with RTX 3060 12gb or not my specs

motherboard: Asus prime b450m-k ii

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4650g pro

Ram: 8x2 Furry Beast 3200 HZ

Cooling: Lian li Galahad AIO240

and ofc PSU: EVGA 500watt 80+ white

(I can't upgrade my PSU because my financial condition doesn't allow it right now I can afford the GPU with struggle)

Should be fine, minimum for the RTX 3060 12GB is 450W, just don't go overclocking the snot out of the graphics card, that 4650G and/or adding a ton of 3.5" mechanical drives.

I agree with @Agall  Wattage wise it will be fine.

I just want to know what exact EVGA 500w PSU you have since some are quite bad and can be dangerous to use.

Is it an N1, W1?  BT?

Is there a serial number?
Maybe you can take a picture of it.

If you have used this PSU with a previous system without faults it should be alright 🙂

That being said, EVGA has a lot of poor PSU's in the 500w range so I would like to know what it is.

A budget PSU you can look out to purchase would be the MSI A550BN or A650BN!

Reliable unit with 5 year warranty.  We recommend this PSU in a lot of budget builds multiple times a week.

That is what I was afraid of.

No, the W1 is probably one of the worst units out there.

We like to use the PSU Tierlist.  Tier: F is the lowest tier.   I know this sucks but this is good to know.

I know budget is tight but I can't recommend you continue with this PSU.

It might be fine, it probably will be.  But I can't give any guarantees.  The MSI A550BN is  $49.99.

I just don't want your PSU to possibly destroy your new 3060.

wow that's really disappointing to me I guess I'll stick with an older GPU till I can buy a new PSU and better GPU the problem is that in my country the economical situation is really going down and every thing has been doubled or even tripled its price so this why I'm struggling to buy new GPU not pre-owned one but overall thank you very much for that you informed me before I throw my money in the trash.

I totally understand. It was the worst possible news unfortunately.

That really sucks, even in my wealthy country I see prices going up dramatically and more and more families are having issues paying the bills.

I think waiting until you can get a decent PSU and GPU combo would be the best bet.

Yes the 3060 and your system should work with the EVGA W1, I just can't recommend it.. And ruining a hard earned 3060 will suck even more.

There is also the possibility of other components going out like the motherboard or CPU at the same time.

I don't want to put you in danger ( Bad PSU's have burned or caught fire ) or having you spend all your money on something that might break.

I am of course being very cautious here but I don't like messing around with sketchy PSU's and power in general.

I got in the same budget ->XIGMATEK THOR T750M 750W 80+ Bronze Fully Modular but tbh I've tried xigmatech before and the experience was really the worst ever so I don't want any recommendation from this company but I got other decent companies  like CORSAIR CX650M 650 Watt 80+ Bronze Semi Modular ,Corsair CV650 650 Watt 80+ Bronze Power Supply and finally Cooler Master MWE V3 750 Watt 80+ Bronze ATX 3.1 this version of coolermaster is cheaper 100EGP I said EGP because I live in Egypt so the the 100EGP difference is like 2$ cheaper XD but the others are way more cheaper than the 2 coolermaster versions.

(A lil note I think I see the P/N if you want to know the versions because like I've mentioned before I don't have high background about PSUs I just know the higher the voltage the better XD.)

V3 works too, it's essentially V2 but better, because it's "version 3",

although, depends, if the V2 is 80+ Gold, then perhaps V2 is better in a way,

efficiency isn't the only factor for quality, but sometimes it can be,

no Thermaltakes, or ASUS, or MSI, or Corsair, or BeQuiet!, or Seasonic, or SuperFlower?

I've mentioned 2 PSUs from Corsair and Seasonic those 2 from each company are budget friendly beside Coolermaster's PSU

so Corsair is out depending on your recommendation and I think the Seasonic too bec both of Corsair and Seasonic are 650 watts but they are gold and I think 750 watt gold wins against 650 watt gold obviously am I right?

and as I said CoolerMaster's PSUs v3 is cheaper than v2 by 2$ or 3$ so it's not a big deal to me should I buy the v2 ? which is COM-PSU-7001-ACAAG-E

the Cooler Master is better because of same quality but higher wattage, yes

okay sounds good actually sorry if bothered you with my many questions ,but if I want a cheaper PSU to save money which 1 of the 4 that I've mentioned before between Corsair and Seasonic  can be reliable as the v2 bec spending 4k EGP (85$) is to crazy for PSU that was sold around 2k or 1.5k EGP (40$ to 30$) so it will effect me if I upgraded my PSU from 500 watt to 650 watt or should I give it a shot and buy 750 watts ?

well, that's your choice, in US the MWE Gold PSU can cost between 80-100$,

you also haven't mentioned any Seasonic PSUs,

you can get 650W PSU, if you're not planning to upgrade your GPU soon to something that needs 750W, you can stay on 650W with a 3060

I see, both core GM and core GC are decent PSUs,

not as good as ATX 3.0/3.1, but good enough for 3060 or even something slightly more power hungry
