thoughts on nvidias new lineup?

although for a while now people have hated nvidia, i actually think this time around they have a good chance to clinche amd (seeing how unready they are with this release), but whatre your thoughts?

Imo this launch is a pile of hot garbage. Almost no efficiency improvement, no VRAM improvement, and barely any raw performance improvement if we can trust the leaks. The only card that makes sense is the 5090, as it's at least the best gaming GPU there is, and is pretty good for AI tasks. The only good out of this launch is that you'll be able to buy used previous gen for cheaper

fair, but you do gotta admit the 5070 pricing is atleast slightly impresive

i give it a fake frames out of 10

makes the n64 look like a powerhouse. that n64 is generating every single frame. all by itself. not a single fake frame. what an absolute unit it is.

i feel like the word fake frames is overused at this point

is it not generated by the gpu: YES
is it a scam from nvidia to make games less efficient: YES

but is it fake, it depends on your definition of fake. even though its not being generated by the gpu, doesnt neccesarily make it fake.

now am i angry that nvidia tried to say the 5070 is better than the 4090, yes, they should have never said that.

as to the arguement about frame gen causing latency, from most youtubers ive seen (even vex, one of the biggest nvidia haters) the latency isnt bad on the 5090, but it is concerning to see how the latency will be on the less powerful 50 series cards.

i mean think about cloud gaming and such, its not directly being powered by your pc or phone but it still works.
i kinda find it funny how people call it fake when the game theyre playing in technicality isnt a real thing, its just some data in a computer. im not saying it justifies nvidia using frame gen to replace raw gpu performance, but it is something to think about.

if we have to wax existential about gpu performance then i think it means the generation sucks

im not even gonna sit here and act like it should be normalized to use frame gen for high end gpus (which is one of the most stupidest things ever) but what i am saying is that its not "fake" in a sense. fake would be adding an fps count to the frame counter, but its still technically being generated, just not by the gpu.

I don't think anyone should buy them yet because we have yet to see independent reviews to know if the product functions at all
