Fractal Design Flex 2 Capability with 50 Series?

I’m upgrading my EVGA 3070 ti to a 5070 ti once it releases (hopefully FE!) and I’m curious about my current configuration.

My PC uses a Flex 2 Vertical mount for the Fractal Design North XL, and it’s been doing wonders. That said, I noticed the specs for the new cards use PCIE 5.0 standard. My Flex 2 connects to the 5.0 slot on the Mobo. I’m assuming this results in the card being incompatible due to the Flex 2 being 4.0?

If so, are there any good vertical mounts that are compatible with the North XL? Or is this where it would be better to settle for a horizontal mount? I’ve checked options for a different vertical mount but they all seem to be on the costly side and I’m not certain which brands create quality mounts.

So, a 5070Ti should have absolutely no issues running over PCIe Gen4 (bandwidth wise) and if your riser is working now, I'd expect it wouldn't be an issue with your new card either. Trying to work out if risers work in cases based on pictures is always tricky for me, might just have to hope for the best unless someone knows of a quality Gen5 riser and vertical bracket.

That’s where I’m lost too. I only went with Flex 2 because I know for a fact it works with the North. I love how it looks right now since the GPU is away from the pumps and cables, and it’s much more clean and organized overall (and thankfully away from the glass).

If I can keep the Flex 2 then that would be amazing! My only worry was if it would bottleneck the GPU somehow but I may just settle for it unless I can find another compatible riser.

The only card in the lineup that might be a concern there is 5090.
