I've got a Gigabyte Z690 Aero G DDR4 with a 12700K processor (not overclocked, but always undervolted) and a Corsair RM750x (white). This is happening across the entire system, in Windows, Mac OS (Hackintosh) and even in BIOS.In BIOS the mouse skips non-stop right away when the computer is booted. However, in Mac OS, the stuttering is far less often at first and only lasts like 1/20th of a second. After a few days of uptime, the stuttering length increases and seems to increase the longer my computer has been on.

Attempted fixes;

  • removed all USB devices except for mouse and keyboard
  • removed all SSD and NVME drives
  • removed GPU
  • removed Intel Wifi/Bluetooth AX210 card
  • disconnected F_U32 that connects to case
  • reseated RAM
  • reset BIOS
  • updated BIOS from f23 to f25 to f29 (latest version)

This keeps happening even in BIOS! I've tried booting into BIOS even after removing nearly everything I could including all SSD/NVME drives, the GPU, disconnecting the Wifi/Bluetooth card from PCI that's underneath the plate cover, and disconnecting F_U32 header that connects to the case's USB ports. I am NOT using any USB hubs, this happens with both wired and wireless mice connect to directly to the motherboard.

Important: this issue also affects audio! When there's music playing through my JBL USB speakers; the audio cuts out for the same amount of time as my mouse skips on screen; this is still true after a few days when the mouse skips for like half a second, the audio cuts out for the same length of time.

Here's a quick video of the problem:
