Budget (including currency): 200 €

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Just office stuff, checking mails, watching YouTube and listening to Spotify so not much...

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I plan on reusing the case, storage (sata SSD+HDD) and PSU (or exchange it to another PSU I already have on hand). I also have some DDR4 RAM I might reuse and I also have a 256GB m.2 laying around which I might also throw in while upgrading but I think the sata SSD should be fine.

So I basically need a Mainboard and CPU where I need some suggestions. The really don't need much, even the fx8350 is still enough for their need but with the end of win 10 around the corner I think I'll update their PC now and not when win 10 is totally out of date...

I was thinking about a used 5600g and just some cheap Mainboard... It's a bit of an overkill for what they do but I would say that for the basic use it should be good for years to come.

But maybe someone has a better idea, maybe just get a whole refurbished office PC with a win11 compatible (most likely Intel) CPU?

Thank you for all suggestions!

I mean you can install W11 though. Otherwise get the cheapest machine.

That's the route I'd take in this situation. In my experience, computer stuff for other people should have as little cobbled-together-ness as possible.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

fx is still quite valuable esp the higher end chips like that fx 8350 and the higher end boards so should be able to get some cash out of that

as for the pc yeah look for a used 8th gen prebuilt or something as that should be more than sufficient for just basic tasks
