Hi guys!

Quick question: I have an Asus ROG B450F Gaming I motherboard and a Ryzen 7 2700x. I tried both DOCP standard and Manual tweaking, but I can only OC one dual channel to 3200Mhz, if I do it with two, I can't boot.
Which component is holding me back? CPU or MB? Thanks!

DDR4 default speed is 2133MTps. If you cannot boot with 4x 8GB @ 3200, you may want to try turning DOCP off and manually set the frequency.

Try 4x 8GB @2400 and if it works try incremental increases (2800, 3000) until it would no longer boot.

Once you've determined the max frequency that allows booting normally, you can turn DOCP on and manually set (e.g. decrease) the frequency to what will work.

I never had this type of issue with DDR4 (my 1st Ryzen CPUs were 3000 series, though) but this is common practice when dealing with DDR5 unfortunately. On some machines, I can't even reach DDR5 default freq (4800MTps) with 4 modules.

Good luck 🙂

i mean on 2 separate kit point moot. Unless if its an extreme overclock RAM the two kits could ship with different chip which will throw off any overclocks.

Zen+ memory controller doesnt help either, a big meme compared to even Zen 2.
